Natalie and Jake’s Intimate Wedding on the Oregon Coast

For their big day, Natalie and Jake invited their families to join them for a week in the quiet beach town of Neskowin on the Oregon coast.

I loved how much their wedding morning felt like an ordinary, slow Saturday. Fleetwood Mac played on the speaker. People were either watching cartoons on the couch, getting ready together at the dining table, or watching the tides on the patio.

We moved through the day as it came, hardly paying attention to the schedule. Things happened in their natural succession — they got dressed, shared their first look, took a few photos with family, signed their ketubah and walked to the beach for their ceremony whenever it felt like a good time. No stress of sticking to a specific timeline. Just doing whatever felt right in the moment.

The rest of the day felt just as easy. They shared personal vows on the beach just before the bride’s father officially announced them as husband and wife. They ate dinner on the patio. They danced in the dunes as their families overlooked from the house. And when the sky finally turned dark (thank you for late sunsets, Oregon summers!), an episode of Bluey was put on the TV as everyone turned in for the night.

A gift from the bride's father, a watercolor painting of the view outside their window that he made that week.
