Vesta and Skyler’s Wedding at Quail Ranch

A look into Vesta and Skyler’s dreamy wedding at Quail Ranch (on digital and 35mm film).

The morning started quietly, with Vesta getting dressed in the pool house with her friends while Skyler’s groomsmen played pool and piano in their suite. But once all of their guests began arriving, we found out pretty quickly that this would likely be the only calm moment of the day.

This avocado farm got more colorful by the second, with guests arriving in a rainbow of outfits while Best Bud put out the most stunning all-pink florals around the venue.

Skyler and Vesta got married under the biggest olive tree I’ve ever seen in a classic Persian ceremony, and after exchanging rings, they were ready to throw a great damn party.

When I think about standouts from this day, it’s impossible to ignore the fairytale landscapes or Vesta and Skyler’s iconic wedding looks; but when I think about what stood out the most, it was the immense energy and love from all of the people around them.

The kind of group that never stopped hugging each other through the entire evening. The kind of group that decided to start dancing before dinner was even put on the table. And most notably, the kind of group that did not hesitate to help a stranger (me!) get a bee out from under her dress when she got stung trying to take family pictures.

As soon as the official wedding business was over, their guests immediately started partying and just never stopped. Even hours into the music, the dance floor never wavered. They moved all night.

Manifesting a life where I’m invited to more Persian parties. I hope this won’t be my last.
